Why Nappy Love?
We decided to use cloth nappies when our
baby was born but found the choice very confusing. We were using disposables at
first but wanted to try cloth nappies as about a quarter of our household waste
was little plastic nappy bags and I was concerned about the waste and the
environment. My husband was really sceptical but, after looking at the potential
savings over the 2 years our baby would probably be in nappies, he was convinced
to give it a go!
Not knowing where to start, I looked on some websites and was baffled – there
are so many different types to choose from. I chose 3 styles and hired a trial
pack for 2 weeks. It was a great way to find out what would suit us and to get
to grips with the laundry side of things.
Far from being a nightmare as expected it was really easy, the ones I chose have
a Velcro style fastening and are as easy to use as a disposable. Keeping them
clean and smell free is a doddle too, with the help of an
eco friendly washing powder and a few drops of Tea Tree Oil.
Even though I had found the nappies, I couldn’t buy all I needed in the same
place which frustrated me. At the time that I was so busy getting used to being
a Mum I didn’t want to have to shop around but I was forced to.
So that’s why Nappy Love was created!
